Thich Nhat Hanh speaks about a new programme which will bring a new future: conscious teaching. Teachers and education institutions will be able to apply this system which, based upon Buddhist foundations of dharma but applied in a secular way, will enable teachers and students alike to establish a greater connection with both themselves and their environment, favouring a community structure in class which will not only help them to live better with fellow human beings, but ultimately helping them to reaching their deepest core.
A new future
Oprah Winfrey interviews the Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, in a meeting, which will bring forward interesting queries: how to apply Buddhism to everyday modern situations, how to improve our way of relating with others and even the biography of Thich Nhat Hanh himself. Indeed, such a story not only will prove to move even the hardest of souls, but will open our view to strength and a way of living worth following.
East and West
Fighting suffering. Thich Nhat Hanh discusses how to fight suffering in the world, by firstly fighting it in ourselves. Only by having a peaceful core can we expand peacefulness, just as only by being able to help ourselves can we help others.
One of the four noble truths is the suffering which is inherent to living. The path we walk through has hardships, which may end up in pain. Only by facing and responding to such a pain in a mindfully way may we understand its nature, not only helping our hearts to let go, but achieving a greater understanding of the world and ourselves.
